Loner Theo Sumner is a 14 year-old living in the isolated Queensland mining town of Scorpion Falls. Following the arrival of an unsettling guest at the Iguana Motel, teenagers start disappearing in mysterious circumstances.As Theo looks for answers, he is drawn deeper into the murky underbelly of his home town and a shocking nightmare encounter with the truth.

Scorpion Falls is a gripping YA chiller set in a spooky and claustrophobic, mining town called, you guessed it, Scorpion Falls. The name of the town is not accidental: this story is constructed with a real sting in the tale and a jolt at the end of every chapter. 

While always an exciting, page-turning ride, the novel is thematically underpinned and enriched by several key classic texts which provided inspiration. Among those texts are the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, the legend of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. And, as with those key inspirations, Scorpion Fall's  protagonist, Theo, undergoes a dizzying mental and physical ordeal before, finally, facing down his worst fears.
